Vacancy for a Community Leader, Jordanstown Parish

Jordanstown Parish is seeking to appoint a Community leader.

Jordanstown Parish, is a parish of approximately 350 families, and It is situated in the middle of a growing population of young families who have chosen to live in this peaceful and attractive area.

The Main role of the post holder will be:–

  1. To be committed to personal and spiritual development, and be aware of current developments in the leadership of contemporary worship, mission, gift development, discipleship, team ministry, pastoral care, and small group ministry;
  2. To play a leading role in the development of SPACE which is an all age worship experience each Sunday in the church hall, aimed at those seeking a contemporary form of worship within the Context of Anglicanism;
  3. To provide ongoing pastoral care for the SPACE community, as well as outreach to the wider unchurched community, engaging them in the life of the parish;
  4. To have responsibility for overseeing children’s and youth work within the parish;
  5. To contribute to the overall review of the strategic vision of the parish; and
  6. To work closely with the Rector and the leadership team who would provide support and encouragement to the Community Leader.

Terms and Conditions

A part time post of 20 hours per week, including Sunday Worship, attracting a Salary of £9880 – £13520 (depending on experience and qualifications). The post will be reviewed after one year, of an initial three–year contract.
