New team member for LAMP

The Lecale Area Mission Partnership (LAMP) will be welcoming a new team member at the start of the summer. The Revd Julie Bell, who is presently Curate in Christ Church, Lisburn, will be joining the core team of LAMP in a part–time capacity, initially for a period of one year.

Prior to her curacy, Julie trained for Ordination at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute, which included a year as Deacon Intern in Glenavy Parish.  She is no stranger to Down and Dromore, though. Her home parish is Knockbreda, and she has served as Director of Music in Hillsborough and Bangor Parishes.

Speaking about her appointment, Julie said: “I am delighted to be joining the ministry team and community in Lecale. It is a place where I have long felt at home, both in its worshipping roots and settings, and in the warmth of friendship I have known there.  I would like to thank Dean Henry and the team for welcoming me into the fellowship of the LAMP ministry team, and I look forward to sharing in the ongoing development of mission and ministry among the Lecale community.”

Dean Henry Hull, who heads up the LAMP team, also commented on the appointment.  “It is a pleasure to be able to announce Julie’s appointment to our team.  Julie is a good friend of churches around Lecale, who have been blessed by her musical talents over the years.  This new role will see Julie joining an already active team, and undertaking some specific work around young families and worship, and around discipleship.”

Julie will begin her ministry in LAMP in early July, and will be informally introduced to the LAMP congregations at services over the summer.
