Communications and Information
A range of resources produced by the central Church to help parishes share stories from their mission and ministry and to look after personal information. (Links lead to the main Church of Ireland website).
- Photography and filming
- Mailing lists
- Live streaming and recording
- Archives (and memorials in burial grounds)
- Data protection (all documents relating to this issue)
Parishes are encouraged to keep drawing these resources to the attention of new volunteers and members of leadership teams.
Guidance on Data Protection
An information pack is now available to help parishes meet the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is coming into effect on 25th May 2018. This will affect all parishes, in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, as it replaces existing law on data protection and gives individuals more rights and protection in how their personal data is being used by organisations.
The pack is available on the Parish Resources section of the Church of Ireland website here and includes a guide to GDPR, an information poster, a compliance checklist, and sample templates and forms.
If you have any questions please contact Rebekah Fozzard, Special Projects Manager at the Representative Church Body, by email at email@example.com
For the benefit of Select Vestries, the Diocesan Council has produced a guide to the Regulations and Charges for Burial Grounds and Gardens of Remembrance.
These general diocesan guidelines will be reviewed triennially by the Diocesan Council.
Minibus Transport in Northern Ireland
Clergy, youth workers, children’s workers, and others who are employed by parishes are no longer allowed to drive a minibus for the church without passing a test for a D1 licence.
