Australian rector is bible week speaker

The speaker at the Bishop's Bible Week is the Revd Ed Vaughan, rector of Crinken, near Bray.  Ed and his wife Jane and children Christopher (20), Georgia (13) and Chloe (10) recently moved to Ireland from Australia when Ed was appointed rector in the South County Dublin parish.

Until then Ed and Jane have lived all their lives in Sydney.  Ed was previously rector of a church in the inner western suburbs of Sydney, an area that used to be working-class industrial, but which has been transformed into a very middle-class trendy area.  They had a church planting ministry there for 13 years, where they were involved in planting four churches of varying styles and approaches.

Ed's father was born in Ireland and emigrated to Australia in the 1930's.  He is enjoying the challenges of ministering in an Irish context where there is massive change and opportunity.  In his spare time he enjoys running, reading fiction and watching sport, especially in contests where Australia wins!
