Video Courses

The diocese has produced the ‘Let’s Talk About’ video series which explores Marriage, Parenting and Loss in an insightful, practical and biblical way.

'Let's Talk About' Courses

Marriage

‘Let’s Talk About Marriage’ comprises three sessions and is accompanied by a Study Guide. The sessions may be viewed on the diocesan YouTube channel:

  1. The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

  2. The Nitty Gritty of Marriage

  3. Three Secrets of a Happy Marriage

Let’s Talk About Marriage will help couples invest in their marriage relationship together. It is written and presented by Revd Jim Cheshire and his wife Diane who have been married for over 20 years and have two teenage children. Jim and Diane don’t claim to be experts, nor to have the perfect marriage, but they share valuable insights inspired by their own experiences and the wisdom of others who have written on the subject. The videos can be watched by a couple at home or in a group setting in conjunction with a local church.

Parenting

‘Let’s Talk About Parenting’ comprises three sessions and is accompanied by worksheets. The sessions may be viewed on the diocesan YouTube channel:

  1. Appreciating Difference and Developing Emotional Security

  2. Setting Loving Limits and Keeping Our Children Safe

  3. Lone Parenting, Teens and a Word to Dads

Let’s Talk About Parenting is written and presented by Revd Adrian Green and his wife Linda. Adrian and Linda have been married for over 30 years and have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. They have navigated through all the stages of raising a child to adulthood and also have experience of adoption and lone parenting. The course runs over two sessions with an additional bonus session covering more specific situations which might not apply to everyone. The videos can be watched at home or in a group setting in conjunction with a local church. The material is accompanied by downloadable worksheets. Some of the content is copyright of Positive Parenting Publications and is used under licence.

Loss

‘Let’s Talk About Loss’ comprises three sessions and is accompanied by a Leaders’ Guide

  1. Loss, Death and Growth

  2. Bereavement and Recovery

  3. Rituals, Untimely Deaths and Facing Death with Faith

Let’s Talk About Loss is written and presented by Revd Karen Salmon who was herself bereaved suddenly after just five years of marriage. Due to the sensitive nature of the subject, the course is only suitable for those who have experienced bereavement more than three months before and should only be run in a group setting with at least one facilitator. Let’s Talk About Loss is based on material from the Church Pastoral Aid Society who have kindly given permission for its use.

These videos are not publicly available. If you are interested in running the course for a group please email the diocesan communications officer.
