Death of Canon Noble Hamilton
It was with sadness that we received news of the death of Canon Noble Hamilton, a former rector of Seapatrick, who was in his 101st year. Noble passed away peacefully on 22 July.
Ordained deacon in 1947, Noble served his entire ministry in the Diocese of Down and Dromore. His first curacy was in Dundela (1947–51) and he served a second in Holywood (1951–56) before becoming incumbent of St Clement’s, Templemore Avenue where he remained until 1962. Noble then moved to the Diocese of Dromore as Rector of Seapatrick, Banbridge from which he retired in 1989. He was installed as Prebendary of Dromara in 1966, becoming Precentor of Dromore in 1975 and Chancellor in 1982.
Dearly beloved husband of the late Pat, our thoughts and prayers are with Noble’s daughters Daphne, Judith, Lesley, Heather and Alison, and the entire family.
There will be a Service of thanksgiving for Noble’s life on Wednesday 26 July at 12.30pm in Holy Trinity Parish Church, Banbridge, followed by cremation in Roselawn Crematorium on Thursday at 10.00am.
