Olympic gold medallist returns to St Finnian's
St Finnians, Cregagh, welcomed back parishioner and Olympic gold medallist, Jack McMillan, for a special invitation service on Sunday 22 September.
Jack (24) competed for Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a year on from making his first senior international British World Championship team.
He swam in the heats of the 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay and was awarded a gold medal when the British team won the final.
“It was a pleasure to sit down for a few minutes with Jack as he recounted the summer of 2024,” said rector, Canon Jono Pierce.
“He spoke of the dedication and commitment required to reach the top of his sport and the values his late parents instilled in him and his brother. We were delighted to see him before he returned to full time training in Scotland.”
