The magnificant seven

In a matter of days a team of seven people including Andrew Brannigan, Down and Dromore’s Youth Officer, will be heading to one of the most fascinating countries in the world - Nepal, for a three and a half week mission trip!

The team was commissioned on Sunday the 19th of March and the trip is from the 1st to the 21st of April.

The team will be very busy, spending around 2 of the weeks working in a day-care centre for children with physical and learning disabilities. This will involve mostly unskilled work such as painting as well as time with the children. Also on the agenda will be visits and stays with Nepali families and also to local churches. There won’t be much opportunity to do anything that is overtly evangelistic however as this is against the law in Nepal!

This is an exciting opportunity as the team will get to see first hand the work of HDCS and the CMSI mission partners; and to follow the progress of last years Annual Project “Fingerprints of Hope” based in Nepal, that so many churches, Sunday schools and schools became involved with.

Finally, just so that you don’t think that the team will be working the whole time, there will be a few days in the middle when they will be going to Pokhara to see the sights and do a bit of trekking, climb the odd K2 or Everest –that sort of thing!

Please lift them and their families before God in your prayers over the coming weeks, asking Him to protect, provide and empower them to do this good work. Remember especially the Nepali Christians that they meet, and ask God to really encourage and inspire them through the visit of the team.
