The Oil of Healing
On Maundy Thursday, the clergy of the diocese received the oil of healing at a special service in Down Cathedral. It was a moving reminder that the whole chucrh of Jesus Christ is called to a healing ministry in every generation. St James tells us: Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick man.
