Charles notches up 50 years

The Rev Charles Combe was ordained in the ministry on 22 July 1956.  Charles is now retired and he and his wife, June, live in Bangor where they are members of St Comgall's.  A recent Holy Communion service was used to mark the occasion at which Bishop Harold Miller was the guest preacher.

Charles served his second curacy in Down & Dromore in Ballynafeigh (St Jude's) from 1958 to 1961 before taking up his first incumbency in Cricken in the diocese of Dublin and Glendalough.  During his ministry he served in Connor diocese and Armagh diocese before returning to minister in the south of Ireland in the diocese of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh, were he later became Dean of Kilmore.

A presentation in honour of his achievement was made to Charles after the service.
