Holywood sends goats to Africa
A few weeks prior to their Harvest Sunday, a Get your Goat Appeal went out to the parishioners of St Philip & St James parish Holywood - this was in place of the normal practice of bringing gifts of food for distribution within the parish. Knowing that often the harvest in other countries is not as bountiful as it is here, parishioners were asked to contribute to the £27 it cost to send a goat to an African family. Donations received now means that as a Harvest Thanksgiving gift from Holywood Parish a herd of 114 goats will soon be going to help feed families in Africa.
