Volunteer house builders sought

Habitat for Humanity, which is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing charity, would like to invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to help build houses together in partnership with families in need.

The construction work in the Model Farm Estate in Downpatrick will take place on Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th and Saturday 20th January 2007.  No experience is necessary - all work carried out will be supervised by on-site supervisors.  Anyone over 16 years will be very welcome to join in this great opportunity to live out Christian faith in a practical way - as well as having lots of fun and fellowship and making new friends!  To book a place(s) contact Moya Hale (9024 3686 ext 214/email moyah@habitatni.co.uk).

Habitat for Humanity's goal is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action.  They have used the traditional Habitat model to regenerate and reconcile communities that have suffered during 35 years of conflict.
