Bishop Harold's statement on the election of the new Primate
Bishop Harold made the following statement after today's announcement of Bishop Alan's election as the new Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland.
"I am so pleased that Alan Harper is to be our new Primate. Working closely with him over the past 5 years has been a real privilege. Alan is a man of integrity and fair mindedness. His understanding of political and social concerns is second to none. He is prepared to grapple with tough issues and tough situations, but undergirding all of that is his profound and implicit faith in Jesus Christ, and his great love of the church of God.
We are privileged to have such a leader to follow Robin Eames in Armagh. I assure him of my prayers and the prayers of the whole diocese of Down & Dromore.
