Important Information from the Primates’ Meeting in Tanzania

The Primates' Meeting held in February in Dar es Salaam, issued two very important statements on Monday 19 February. These are very important indeed.
The first is a Communique from the Primates which deals largely with the critical issues facing the Communion at the moment. The second is a first draft from the Covenant Design Group of a possible text for an Anglican covenant. The idea of a Covenant was raised in the Windsor Report, and many are hoping that this will be a way forward to ensure unity in our communion. The Draft Anglican Covenant is likely to form a major part of the agenda of the Lambeth Conference in 2008.
The text of the two documents can be found on the Anglican communion website http://www.anglicancommunion.org
