Bishops drop by for breakfast with Streetreachers

Streetreach, which takes place immediately after Summer Madness, is currently in full swing with around 2,000 young people working in 31 different parts of Belfast.  The majority are based at the King's Hall and each morning breakfast is prepared for them by Mothers' Union volunteers.  The Bishops of Down & Dromore and Connor were invited to join them in a hearty breakfast and to hear about the work they are doing in the different areas of the city.

The areas are benefiting from Streetreachers carrying out tasks such as street cleaning, gardening for residents, painting walls and murals, running kids clubs, delivering window boxes to the housebound, taking elderly people on outings and making contact with refugees.  This is the Streetreachers in action, showing God's love in practical ways - they believe that actions speak louder than words.

In partnership with local communities and churches the Streetreachers go into many of the poorest and toughest parts of Down & Dromore diocese, these include Ballybeen, Ballymacarrett, Beersbridge, Braniel, Knocknagoney, Sydenham, Tullycarnet, and Willowfield.
