Hard Gospel hymn-writing competition

Church of Ireland parishes are being encouraged to enter a hymn-writing competition being run by the Hard Gospel Project. 

The prize winner will receive 

€1,000.00 (£672.00)

The deadline for entries is Saturday 1st December with the winner being announced on 1st January 2008.  The winning entry will also be premiered by the Discovery Gospel Choir at the Hard Gospel Immigration Conference taking place on Saturday 19th January 2008 in the Emmaus Retreat Centre, outside Dublin.

The three judges tasked with the job of finding the winner are Melanie Clark Pullen, Bishop Edward Darling and Lorna Palmer.

The winning hymn will also be published and circulated for use in Church of Ireland churches throughout the country.  Any entry must, therefore, be suitable to be performed in a variety of settings and on a variety of instruments.
