Spotlight on Clara

Clara Costley is a guest soloist at the Bishop's Bible Week.  As well as being an accomplished soloist Clara is also an excellent flautist.

Here is a personal greeting from Clara:

Hi! My name is Clara Costley and I am looking forward to singing at the Bishop's Bible Week. I am 20 years old and am currently in my third year, studying Music and Theology at Queen's University Belfast. After this I hope to become a minister in the Church of Ireland and have such a passion to tell people of the salvation Jesus offers!

I simply love singing and am currently rehearsing for an opera in the Grand Opera House in October and singing at lots of weddings, which keeps the summer busy! I also really enjoy playing the flute and piano. I am a member of Shankill Parish Church Choir (which i LOVE!!) and enjoy everything from old style chanting to modern worship music. Outside of music I LOVE attempting to play football with Queen's Ladies Soccer Club and support the mighty Manchester United!

Jesus is by far the most important thing in my life. If you don't have Jesus in your life, you are missing out on the best thing ever. Don't miss out any longer!! Jesus says "‘I have come in order that you might have life - life in all its fullness!' John 10:10

This poem by Carol Wimmer sums up what I feel it is to be a Christian-

When I say..."I am a Christian"

I'm not shouting "I am saved"

I'm whispering "I get lost!"

"That is why I chose this way."

When I say..."I am a Christian"

don't speak of this with pride.

I'm confessing that I stumble

and need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"

I'm not trying to be strong.

I'm professing that I'm weak

and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"

I'm not bragging of success.

I'm admitting I have failed

and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"

I'm not claiming to be perfect,

my flaws are too visible

but God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"

I still feel the sting of pain

I have my share of heartaches

which is why I seek His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"

I do not wish to judge.

I have no authority.

I only know I'm loved.

Come along to the Bishop's Bible Week- all are welcome!!

See you there

Clara
