Ready... Steady... Grow

The Down & Dromore Council of Mission is holding a conference on Saturday 24th November 2007 and is taking Ready ... Steady ... Grow as its theme.  The event will be held at Willowfield and St Clements Church Halls, which both have new and refurbished premises.

Over 400 delegates for all the parishes in the diocese will be invited to hear Bishop Harold Miller give the Keynote Address, and to attend morning and afternoon seminars.  The focus of the conference will be on practical aspects of Church Growth and George Lings, Director of the Church Army's Sheffield Centre, and Mark Melluish, who is vicar of St Paul's, Ealing have been invited to lead morning and afternoon seminars.  George's seminar topic is ‘Fresh Expressions' and Mark's is ‘Growing Local Churches'.  Both speakers have a wealth of knowledge and experience in these areas. 

Other seminar leaders include Paul Hoey (CPAS), George Davison (Derrylin),  David Somerville (Drumgath),  David McClay (Willowfield), John McCammon (CMSI), Stephen Cave (Evangelical Alliance), Philip Holland (Seagoe) Nigel Parker (Bangor Parish), Ferran Glenfield (Kill o' the Grange), Norman Jardine (Ballynafeigh), Andrew Brannigan (DYO), Earl Storey (Director of Hard Gospel Project) and Chris Hollies (Evangelical Ministries).

Speaking ahead of the conference Bishop Harold said: ‘I trust and pray that the Lord will use this conference to move us to a new period of growth development in each of our parishes'.

Each parish is being allocated places at the conference and it is anticipated that those attending will represent people of different ages, backgrounds and experience.  There will also be opportunities for Prayer Ministry throughout the day.
