Flower and Carol Festival

To celebrate their 75th anniversary St Finnian's parish in Belfast held a Christmas Flower and Carol Festival.  Held over an entire weekend the festival featured fifteen major exhibits (and lots of smaller ones, too) each of which illustrated a well loved Christmas Carol.

During the festival period musicians ranging from school and church choirs, organ soloists and clarinet ensembles performed Christmas music.

The floral displays were co-ordinated by Barbara Megarry, who is well known in flower arranging circles throughout Northern Ireland.

While no admission fee was charged those who came to the festival had an opportunity to contribute to the St Finnian's Uganda Fund.  The parish has been providing support to schools and medical centres in Uganda for the past ten years.
