Belfast parish raises £15,000 for Uganda

St Finnian's parish in Belfast has raised a massive £15,000 for the work of Fields of Life in Uganda.  The parish has been providing support to schools and medical centers in Uganda for the past ten years.

The successful fundraiser was in the form of a Flower and Carol Festival held over a weekend in the run up to Christmas.  In total there were fifteen major exhibits, and many smaller ones, too.  Each of the arrangement illustrated a well loved Christmas carol and musician, choirs and soloists performed Christmas music as people flocked to see the floral displays.   Barbara Megarry, who is a well know flower arrange,r was the exhibit co-ordinator.

The parish didn't charge an admission, fee but visitors to the exhibition were able to leave a voluntary contribution.
