On yer bike!

Nigel Kirkpatrick, the rector of Gilnahirk Parish, and parishioner Colin Carrigan, are both keen bikers and they joined forces with 40 other bikers over the recent Bank Holiday Weekend to raise funds and awareness for the Down's Syndrome Association.  Nigel invited Bishop Harold to see the riders off on their marathon trip and even provided Bishop with an opportunity to try out his bike!

Nigel, Colin and the other bikers started off from Stormont Buildings, Belfast and travelled from Belfast up the North Antrim coast, across into Donegal ending up in Sligo at the end of the first day.  The second day's travelling took them all the way from Sligo to Kilkenny and on the Sunday their final journey brought them back to Belfast.  Over the three days they sampled hospitality provided by local parishes.

To date the intrepid travellers have raise £20,000 in sponsorship.
