Retired Church Army sister meets CA Patron

Sister Irene Lockett, one of Church Army's most active retired workers, met Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, who is the Church Army's patron, at St Patrick's Church in Armagh on Maundy Thursday.  Irene was one of the 82 women who received an alms purse from the Queen.

Speaking about Irene recently in ‘Share it!, The Magazine of Church Army, Captain Colin Taylor (C A's Evangelism Resource Officer for Scotland and Ireland) said ‘Although officially retired, Irene hosts prayer meetings at her home and regularly visits older people in local residential care homes.  It is brilliant that she has been recognised in this way for all the time she has given to others over decades of service both at home and abroad.'
