Total Madness!

Summer's here, although the weather might make you think otherwise!  However for thousands of young people the weather wasn't relevant as they converged at the King's Hall, Belfast for the annual Summer Madness festival. Running through from Friday 27th June to Tuesday 1st July the King's Hall became a 'tented' village.

What a sight it was to see 5.000 young people gathered together at the Sunday morning worship and Holy Communion Service. Bishop Harold, who hasn't missed a Summer Madness festival in the last 20 years, led the service.  Peter Greig from the 24/7 Prayer Movement was the main speaker and praise was led by a talented array of musicians and vocalists.

A highlight for the young people from the Diocese of Down & Dromore is always the Saturday BBQ hosted by Bishop Harold.  It provides an opportunity for the Bishop to meet the young people, many of whom he has confirmed over the last number of years, and to hear at first hand of their involvement in working with outreach teams both at home and further afield over the coming months.

As the tents are packed away for another year, John Kee and his team are already hard at work planning for Summer Madness 2009!
