New Dawn at Bible Week

New Dawn are a group of young (well some are young at heart) Christian people who are growing in their faith through worship and praise. They will be taking part in the Bishop’s Bible Week, appearing on Wednesday night at 8pm in Willowfield Parish Church.

While they recognise that there is much more to our Christian beliefs than the music, they believe that worship and praise can be the starting point where many people can discover the passion for worshipping our God.

The group comprises Derek Williamson - vocals/acoustic guitar, Soirse Rooney – vocals, Keith Williamson - keyboard, flute, vocals, Shane Durnan – vocals, Ally McKenzie – Bass/acoustic guitar (not in photos) and Josh Williamson – lead guitar. They say “While playing mostly in our local church of St Patricks Newry, we have led worship in a variety of other venues – most notably leading worship for the African primates at Dromintine, with Archbishop Williams in attendance. Every morning we waken, and open our eyes, we can make a choice to carry on the way we are, or to follow the example of our Christ. Hence the opportunity everyday for a ‘New Dawn’ in our spiritual life: 2 Corinthians 5:17.”
