Still "Sounds Sacred"

The Revd Canon Noel Battye will retire as Rector of St Finnian's Cregagh during December, but he has announced that the popular Sunday evening radio programme, 'Sounds sacred' will continue.

Listeners will be able to keep tuning in to BBC Radio Ulster every Sunday evening as Noel introduces requests for sacred music.

Speaking about the Radio Programme, Canon Battye says he is continuing with it after 23 years as he enjoys it so much.

Bishop Harold Miller also spoke of his sadness about Canon Battye's retirement from Ministry in the Diocese of Down and Dromore but said it is with much joy that he "will still be speaking into the homes of people in Down and Dromore and beyond."

Sounds Sacred is broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster (92-95FM and 1341MW) every Sunday night from 5.05pm to 6.00pm.
