Bishop Harold Rings the Changes for Climate Change

From 1 - 12 December 2008 the UN Climate Change Conference is taking place in Poland.  World leaders are meeting to discuss action on climate change for the last time before the Copenhagen Climate Conference, which seeks to replace the Kyoto Protocol when it runs out in 2012.  To coincide with this year's conference, there was an international day of action on Saturday 6th December.

Tearfund Northern Ireland teamed up with Christian Aid, Eco-congregation Ireland, Friends of the Earth and Trócaire to organise "Ring the Changes on Climate Change - the Countdown to Copenhagen."  On Saturday 6th December local politicans, church leaders, including Bishop Harold Miller and members of congregations across Northern Ireland gathered on the steps of St Anne's Cathedral to ring bells and speak out about this crucial issue. Across the country, churches rang their bells to show their support for the campaign.
