Double first for Down and Dromore!

Down and Dromore has won two firsts in this year's Communications Awards announced at General Synod. Our websites won in both the Diocesan and Parish categories with St Mary's Ballybeen picking up the latter honour.

Another parish in Down, St Columba's, Knock, was runner-up in the parish magazine category with 'The Columban'. The competition is run by the Church of Ireland Press Office but independently judged by media professionals. This is the sixth time that our diocesan website has picked up fist prize in its category.

Rector of St Mary's Ballybeen, Revd Mark Harvey, said how delighted they were to win. "This is a great encouragement for us as the site is quite new. We've tried very hard to make it reflect the life of the parish and we hope it will play it's part in drawing people in."

The website has been ‘live' since Feb and was designed by Tanya English of Eden Studios in Bangor.  Click here to pay a visit. We think you'll find it refreshing, welcoming and informative.
