Bishop's Prayer Breakfast for Youth Workers

Ask any youth worker to meet for breakfast and they'll instantly book  you in for 12 noon, however a small miracle occured on the 10th September in Church House when 11 of them turned up for 9.30am (!) to have breakfast with the Bishop.

The now annual Bishops breakfast for youth workers across the Diocese of Down and Dromore is centered around prayer for the year ahead, alongside the social aspect of catching up with colleagues and friends over coffee and a bagel. The chat was flowing and the food was good! It was especially encouraging to see a few new faces at the event, with David Dawson, Andrew Frame and Stuart Douglas recently appointed to various posts.

After about 45 mins, the Bishop called the meeting to order, where the youth workers gathered into smaller groups and prayed for each other, the churches they represented and the programs for the year ahead. The Bishop prayed for youth work across the Diocese and encouraged the youth workers to strive on and build upon the good work being undertaken.

Brandy couldn't resist a photo opportunity to publicise the new DDYC programme for the year ahead, and got all the youth workers to pose with their moustaches...

Youth workers in attendance were from left to right:

Peter Hilton (St Finians); Zara Kirkpatrick (Willowfield); Johnny Crymble (Mount Merrion); Martin Montgomery (Seapatrick Parish Banbridge); Laura Kenwell (Shankill); Simon Henry (St Johns Moira); Stuart Douglas (Willowfield); Brandy (DYO); David Dawson (Newry); Dave Cavan (Ballyholme); Andrew Frame (Bangor Parish); Andrew McClelland (Saintfield); and Sharon Hamill (CIYD) (not pictured here)
