24-40 Prayer now at Willowfield

24-40 Prayer has left Carryduff and passed into the hands of Lagan Area Deanery, where a prayer room has been set up in Willowfield Parish.

Rev Willie Nixon, Area Dean for Clanbrassil, handed over to Rev John Auchmuty, Lagan Area Dean, with a short liturgy specially created for the purpose.

Willie reflected that it had been a very special time in Carryduff with all the slots, day and night, being filled and folk also joining in the corporate prayer gatherings.

"People in my parish have really enjoyed and been surprised by the experience. Quite a few have said to me, "I didn't think I could could do it, but the hour flew past!" The youth also took a slot and prayed together, the first time that they have done so and that has been a great encouragement."

Although Willowfield is the central venue for the Lagan 24-40 Prayer, all the parishes in the deanery will take their turn in continuing the vigil.
