Tullylish Parish bring gifts to Donegal

In mid November, a group of parishioners from All Saints, Tullylish in the Diocese of Dromore, brought gifts to Ardara Parish in the Diocese of Raphoe, south west Donegal. May Robinson writes:

"Whilst there, we attended a Service of Confirmation and Dedication of Gifts in Glenties Church. The Service was conducted by The Right Reverend Kenneth Good, Bishop of Derry and Raphoe. The Reverend John Deane, Rector of Ardara, and the Reverend Arthur Young both assisted at the Service.

Five young people from the Parish of Ardara were confirmed and a number of gifts were dedicated including an electric organ donated by Muriel McCracken, Tullylish and central heating pipes from Tullylish Parish.

At lunch following the Service, Bishop Ken spoke of his delight that such a link between the two parishes had been established. He added that it is good to remember that we are all part of a wider church each having something to contribute to the other. He hoped that more churches might follow this example of giving encouragement and help to small rural churches who may often feel isolated.

We all returned home to Tullylish overwhelmed by the welcome and the hospitality which was extended to us in Glenties. We have been greatly enriched by our experience and are determined to maintain the friendships which were forged during our Donegal visit."
