Ballyholme parishioner celebrates her 101st year
Bishop Harold recently visited Mrs Joan McQuoid of Ballyholme Parish, Bangor, as she celebrated her 101st birthday.
'Joannie' was a nurse in Bangor Hospital during WWII and was recently involved in making a DVD for local primary schools in which she told lots of stories about her experiences. She enjoys writing poetry and in 2008 had two poems published.
Joannie is still an active lady and gets out and about during good weather, walking in the grounds of her Abbeyfield home in Bangor. She still attends the afternoon group on Monday afternoons in Ballyholme Parish. Pictured also is the rector of Ballyholme, Rev Simon Doogan.
