Team from Diocese visit Sudan

A joint team from Movilla Abbey, Newtownards and Dromore Cathedral recently set off for our link diocese of Maridi, Southern Sudan.

The Movilla team members are Warnock Edwards and June Richardson and Charlie Sherwin and Rev Stephen Lowry are from Dromore. CMSI's David Gough will lead the team but is not travelling to and from the UK. Together they will use their skills and gifts to preach, pray, work, share and encourage. Please pray for them and the families they leave behind as they follow (approximately) the itinerary below:

Wednesday 20th: Early rise in Maridi after travelling since early on Sunday morning. Daily Worship. Visitation of some places in the morning and fellowship with youth at Christ Town Church in the evening. Probably some sharing on worship themes.

Thursday 21st: Visitation of Diocesan projects in the morning and in the evening visiting the area around Matara.

Friday 22nd: A pastoral visit to Kazan. One of the team will preach to a congregation likely to number at least 800. Preaching involves translation. Members of the team will share their faith stories.

Saturday 23rd: Some or all of the team to visit Ibba Diocese - a long journey!

Sunday 24th: A pastoral visit to Mabilindi. One of the team will preach. Theservice is likely to last for 3 hours with a congregation expected to number around 1000, maybe more. Greetings and faith stories.

Monday 25th: Team meeting with the diocesan staff in the morning and visiting thefamily of the Bishop (Justin) in the evening.

Tuesday 26th: Fly to Yei then on to Entebbe airport. Rest of day spent in Entebbeawaiting a flight after midnight 00.35 (10.35 pm UK time) to London.

Wednesday 27th: From London Heathrow take a morning flight to BelfastInternational for arrival before noon.
