New ways to keep in touch with Down and Dromore

You may have noticed new icons on our sidebars and recognise them as belonging to some social networking sites and the RSS newsfeed. So what's that all about? Annette McGrath, Diocesan Communications Officer explains:

"These are all new ways of keeping in touch with you, our site visitors, or those who prefer to follow us via social networking. We'll be updating you on new stories and events, videos and photos, plus a few little extras you won't find on our main website.

A brief explanation for those of you who are new to this kind of thing, and a reassurance that it needn't be time-consuming. In fact, these are easy ways to keep yourself informed about what's going on in the diocese and beyond:

Twitter - only 140 little characters in which to tell you there's a new story or event on this site or there's something going on somewhere in the diocese or worldwide. Brilliantly short and sweet!

Facebook - a facebook page just for Down and Dromore. If you sign up to facebook you can become a fan and start interacting with us, otherwise, you're free to browse.

You Tube - the Down and Dromore video channel. If you subscribe you'll hear about videos we upload and those we comment on or recommend, otherwise, just have a look.

RSS News and RSS Events - two feeds that notify you about new stuff that goes up on this site and allow you to see it in one place without ever visiting this site. Sign up is necessary.

Please follow, interact or suscribe to one or more of these services. That means the information comes to you rather than you having to go looking for it!"
