Bishop Harold Miller was one of the keynote speakers at the Irish School of Ecumenics CONNECT Conference held on Wednesday 28th April.

The event, held in the Long Gallery at Stormont,  was one of 150 taking place across Northern Ireland during Community Relations Week co-ordinated by the Community Relations Council.

The conference brought together over 80 people from different churches throughout Northern Ireland to reflect on ethical leadership in church and society. Participants had an opportunity for dialogue with the speakers and to reflect on the value base of ethical leadership.

Bishop Harold and fellow keynote speaker, Baroness Nuala O’Loan, discussed The Nature of Power and Authority and Dr Johnston McMaster spoke on The Value Base of Ethical Leadership.

This was part of an ongoing programme by CONNECT the representative body for Church Fora and interchurch groups and was organised by Churches Fora Development Officer, Eileen Gallagher who is a member of the Community Relations Council.

Dr Johnston McMaster is the co-ordinator of the ISE Education for Reconciliation programme and has been actively involved in much of the Fora activity, in particular the early development of the concept.  He is also a writer and broadcaster and speaker at international conferences on the themes of peace building, reconciliation and inter-religious dialogue.
