Last instalment of The Dock Church vision statement

"The complete Vision Pitch for The Dock (consisting of the videos we made for the meeting of all the different denominations at the Pump House a few weeks ago) is now online.

If I'm honest (and I know I'm biased!), I love it!  I love the vision statement - I love the way it came from conversation and brainstorming rather than my own fevered brain, I love the way it's full of hope not just for the TQ but for Belfast and Northern Ireland as a whole, I love the way it's a little bit new but also very rooted in the past...

One challenge that has been put to me is that I can get so excited talking about boats, vegetable medleys and sofas that I forget to say why I think all this is so important. And that's absolutely true - all the bright ideas would be pointless if they weren't there for the right reason.  For me, that reason is simply a desire to follow God and be part of his work in the world - and especially in Titanic Quarter.  So with those thoughts buzzing in my brain I set off for Downpatrick on St Patrick's Day and made the last episode in and around Saul church - the site of the first Christian settlement in Ireland.  You can watch the results below.

As always I'd love to hear what you think - whether you agree or disagree!"
