New worship leader for Dromore Cathedral

Dromore Cathedral has appointed Mrs Karen Bowden as a part-time worship leader. She will mostly be involved with the 10.00am Sunday service but will also have a major role in the development of the music team.

Karen has been involved in leading worship from her late teens, first as a member of Lisburn Cathedral and more recently as a member of Railway Street Presbyterian Church in Lisburn. In her years at Railway Street she has worked with the minister and organist in developing informal worship at the main services, helping to create a strong worship base at a youth oriented evening service, and seeking to develop links across the musical styles of the church.

Karen is a guitarist and singer chiefly, but also does her share of arranging music and even composing some worship songs. She is also a familiar figure to the diocese of Down and Dromore after leading the worship at the first Bishop's Bible Week in 2007.

She should be free to take up her duties in mid-May and will be joining the congregation along with her husband Jeremy. Karen replaces David Lowry who served as a volunteer worship leader for several years.
