'Reflexion' for faith-based community volunteers

Are you a volunteer in a faith-based community organisation? Would you appreciate the time and opportunity to take a step back and consider how your faith connects with your experience and ideas of community work and social action?

REFLEXION, an initiative of the Churches' Community Work Alliance, is a short programme that will allow you to do just that. It's for anyone who is giving their time in community projects, or anyone who is interested in the issues involved and will take particular account of local context.

The programme will take the form of three evenings - Tuesdays 25th May, 8th June and 15th June - and there is no charge for participation.

REFLEXION will help you explore how your faith and your experience affect each other.

REFLEXION will help you explore what the Bible has to say about social action.

  • poverty

  • justice

  • mission

  • evangelism

  • values

  • division

  • peace and reconciliation

  • motivation

  • equality

  • sectarianism

  • community

  • faith in action

These are only some of the issues encountered when working on the ground in Northern Ireland.  REFLEXION is a programme of learning, experience and reflection, aiming to help you make sense of these issues.

REFLEXION To reflect is to take the time to make the connections between faith and experience; to take the opportunity to learn more about yourself, about God and about the world; to grow.
