Archbishop and Bishops endorse Bloody Sunday Memorial meeting

Statement from the Archbishops and Bishops of the Church of Ireland on the meeting between relatives and survivors of Bloody Sunday and Protestant church leaders.

The Archbishops and Bishops of the Church of Ireland, meeting today in Dublin, welcome and wholeheartedly support the initiative of the Bishop of Derry and Raphoe, the Right Reverend Ken Good, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and the President of the Methodist Church in Ireland in arranging to meet today with relatives and survivors of Bloody Sunday in the Bogside at the Bloody Sunday Memorial.

Our hope and prayer is that this meeting may not only bring some solace to the victims of Bloody Sunday, but will also contribute to reconciliation and peace building throughout Northern Ireland.
