Carryduff Parish becomes a Hopebuilder

Carryduff Parish has committted to build hope in partnership with local charity Habitat for Humanity NI. The church has become a Hopebuilder congregation, committing to pray, volunteer and donate to support Habitat's work.

The congregation have been getting monthly prayer points and have volunteered locally, on the Shankill site, and globally. Carryduff also kindly hosted a wonderful meal for the Global Village Team from the US, providing not only food, but a very warm welcome, fun and entertainment. The Select Vestry very kindly decided to donate the average cost of a Habitat home in the developing world (£1235).

Revd Willie Nixon, rector of the grouped parishes of Killaney and Carryduff commented that, "Partnering with Habitat has allowed us to love God's people in a practical way. Thanks to our working alongside HFNI my congregation has a new vision for the margins of society and compassion has been birthed afresh within us. Praise God."

The Hopebuilder programme is available to churches, companies and schools. To find out more about becoming a Hopebuilder, doing something in our own communiities whch will have a life-changing impact somewhere else in the world. Find out more at www.habitatni.co.uk.
