Bishop's Bible Week speaker for 2011
Our speaker at next year's Bishop's Bible Week will be Revd Canon John Hughes. John has over 40 years of parish ministry and is a well known Bible teacher at new Wine events.
John writes:
"I have been in Parish Ministry for 43 years, being Vicar of St Andrew's High Wycombe for 15 years where we saw the renewal of the church and built a new church.
I was Vicar of St John’s Harborne for 18 years, retiring in November 2009. In the Birmingham Diocese I was on the Bishop’s Council as Chair of the House of Clergy and on General Synod, as well as being a Canon of Birmingham Cathedral.
I have been involved in New Wine since its start in 1989 having done the Bible Readings on three occasions and spoken in various countries with New Wine."
John is married to Annie and they have three sons Tim, Peter and Stephen all who are married and living in London. They have three grandchildren.
Bishop's Bible Week 2011 will take place from 22-25th August in the Jethro Centre, Lurgan.
