Dean Hull cheers for Down at the All Ireland Final

On Sunday the Dean Henry Hull represented the Diocese at the All Ireland Football Final in Croke Park as a guest of Down GAA. Sadly despite the team's valiant efforts they were unsuccessful in bringing "Sam" back home.

It was Dean Henry’s first visit to a live GAA match. He said, “the atmosphere was electric; the game was played at an incredible pace and full of passion; and the Down supporters were magnanimous in defeat.”

All week there had been a huge build up to the match - most of Downpatrick and South Down was bedecked in Red and Black. Not having an An Dun shirt the Dean wore his red and black Ulster top to the game.

Earlier in the year Bishop Harold had been the guest at a dinner to mark the 50th Anniversary of Down's first win in the All Ireland and representatives of the GAA had also attended morning worship in St Johns’ Newcastle.
