Muslim Council of Britain praises Christians as Koran burning stunt is cancelled

In an interview on Premier Radio's Big Issue at the weekend the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) praised Christians in the UK and around the world over their tolerance and understanding in the face of plans to burn the Koran.

Ibrahim Mogra, chair of inter-faith relations at the MCB, told Premier's Dave Rose and Bridgitte Tetteh that Christians around the world made up for the "un-Christian" behaviour of Florida pastor Terry Jones who called off his church's plans to burn copies of the Koran on the anniversary of 9/11.

Mr Mogra said: "Christians should hold their heads high and rejoice in the fact that worldwide Christianity including your very prominent leader have been against this and have displayed the true teachings of Christianity, so I think that rather than hang our heads in shame I think that decent human beings around the world should celebrate the fact that we have all together condemned this unacceptable behaviour.
