New Diocesan Mothers' Union Chaplain announced
The Bishop of Down and Dromore has announced the appointment of Canon Robert Howard, Rector of Annahilt and Magherahamlet, as the new Diocesan Mothers' Union chaplain. Robert takes over from Canon David Brown, who has served in that role for the last five and a half years, on 1 January 2011.
The bishop says: ' I am so grateful for the work of the Mothers’ Union in the diocese, and for the desire of members of the Mothers’ Union to serve the Church and Kingdom’. The role of chaplain is an important role in a Christian organization like this, and I am glad that we have people like David and Robert with a heart for and interest in this particular ministry.’
The appointment of the new chaplain has been welcomed warmly by Roberta Rodgers, the Diocesan President.
