New M.Phil in Conflict Resolution

A new Master's (M.Phil.) programme in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation at Trinity College Dublin at Belfast (the Irish School of Ecumenics) has just been launched in Belfast.

Baroness Nuala O’Loan, DBE, spoke at the event on 21st October on, 'The Importance of Studying Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation.’ Baroness O’Loan is Special Envoy to Timor-Leste for the Republic of Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and the former Northern Ireland Police Ombudsman (1999-2007).

 

The event also marked the launch of a new website,

The Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin, is committed to the study and

promotion of dialogue, peace and reconciliation in Ireland and around the world. The

M.Phil. in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation is taught at their specialist cross-border school in Belfast and at partner sites. The programme allows students to specialise in either Conflict Resolution or Reconciliation Studies, or take a broader 'joint course' across both areas.

The M.Phil. in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation equips graduates for work with local and international organisations, and provides transferable skills for a wide variety of careers, including mediation, diplomacy, policy, advocacy, journalism, teaching and PhD research.
