Boring Wells gap year team return from Sheffield

Rev Adrian McCartney writes about a new initiative from Boring Wells...

'This year we have launched our first gap year - Mind the Gap.  The four gappers are (from left) Moore, Fay, Lauren, and Judith.  All four have come through Boring Wells and are now in active leadership roles there.

'Moore and Lauren are both involved in Tiny's (a community of young people living out their faith in a coffee shop context).  Fay and Judith both help with Resound (similar to Tiny’s but working among young people in an interface context).

'Last week the team were in Sheffield visiting a number of creative outreach projects.  These included a group working among people of Islamic background and a project trying to set up micro-finance possibilities among ex-prisoners.

'Mind the gap is an intentional attempt to train pioneer leaders.  Each week includes mission work, part-time job, teaching, discipleship and one-on-one time.'
