A cracker of a Christmas idea
The Parish of Magheralin and Dollingstown got cracking on Saturday 11th December with a novel idea for advertising their Christmas services.
The 'Love Your Neighbourhood' team went door to door giving out 2000 Christmas Crackers with flyers giving service times and a creative reminder of what Christmas is all about. Some of the children of the parish went along too giving the event a real family feel.
'Love Your Neighbourhood is a project designed to demonstrate the love of God in our communities through practical means,' says Rector, Revd Gareth Harron. 'We visit every home in the parish regularly, bringing a little gift and an invite to join us in worship.'
'At times we also offer to do odd jobs such as fence painting or gardening for free, to show the love of God in action.'
