Christians Against Poverty - Belfast Central is New Centre of the Year

The Belfast Central CAP Centre has won the New Centre of the Year award at a recent CAP awards ceremony in Bradford. The award recognises the outstanding achievements of this new centre. The award included an 'Oscar' and a gift of money to bless the support team.

Commenting on the award and the decision of who to award it to, Helen Johnson, CAP’s Director of Centre Development said, ‘I was on the panel who made the decision and it was unanimous that the Belfast Central centre should win this award because of the outstanding job they are doing. Some specifics include the fact that they have already seen four salvations. They have helped the maximum number of clients possible every month and every client they have seen has progressed on to a longer-term plan. In fact the centre is exceeding CAP's expectations in every single area that we monitor.’

Chris Cupples, Centre Manager (pictured right) says, ‘It is a great privilege to receive this award and it is important to thank all the volunteers, churches and individuals who have sacrificially supported the centre from the start, without them we simply couldn’t do this crucial work.’
