Albany Youth Team gets ready for action

The Down and Dromore Youth Team is getting ready to head off to America in the summer. The team members come from a mixture of parishes around our Diocese from Kilkeel to Killmegan, St John's Moira to St John’s Helen’s bay, Cregagh, Donaghcloney and Bangor - even one from Ballyclare!

The team are aged between 16 and 22 with two leaders Simon Henry (Youth Worker Moira Parish) and Julie Currie (Diocesan Children’s Officer) who certainly don’t fit the age category! The team is made up of 11 girls and 6 boys who are all excited to be going out to Albany for two weeks in July.

The team will be helping to run two camps. In the first week they will be assisting at a children’s camp and day run camp and the second week will see them running activities at a young teenagers camp. The team will be Camp councillors looking after the physical and spiritual well being of the young people attending the camp and will be incredibly busy from very early morning to late night each day. . . . so we need plenty of energy and enthusiasm!

Please remember to pray for us as we head off on the 8th of July -  for all our preparation, health and for many of the team sitting exams. Pray that we would be ready to share our faith with the children and young people in Albany and that we would be a blessing to everyone we meet.
