They're 'Going Bananas' at Knockbreda

Eighty children have been enjoying 'Going Bananas', the annual holiday bible club at Knockbreda Parish Church.

Each holy week, children from the local community flock to the parish hall to walk through the pages of Bible. They sing, dance, play games, make friends and learn lots about our great big God.

This year they are secret agents for the week as they investigate the Book of Exodus and discover how God loves and rescues his people.

Knockbreda Curate, Rev Stanley Gamble said, "Holy Week is one of the best weeks in the year. It provides us with the perfect opportunity to run a holiday bible club. We are blessed to have so many gifted leaders who are willing to serve. And we are also blessed to have great links with the local community through the schools. There's some great material out there. This year we are using 'Mission Rescue' from Scripture Union."

Bishop Harold is a firm supporter of such initiatives. He said, "I am pleased to see events that help a new generation of disciples walk through Holy Week. And as the climax, the great celebration of Easter with all the joy and vivacious worship we can muster."
