64 Confirmed in Clanbrassil Deanery

The evening of Sunday 15th May saw 64 candidates, including a set of triplets, from 5 parishes in the Clanbrassil Area Deanery confirmed in Shankill Parish, Lurgan.

Over 700 friends and family filled the Church to watch those from Moira, Donaghcloney, Knocknamuckley, Aghalee and Shankill make the commitment to follow Jesus and live according to the Christian faith.

There was a real sense of praise and celebration as the Shankill Parish Choir and music group led the congregation in worship songs old and new.  Four young candidates shared their own faith stories and whilst others were involved in readings and leading prayers.  In his sermon Bishop Harold spoke of how God sees the individuality of each candidate and spelt out the commitment they were making by being confirmed.  The sense of celebration continued after the service as many took up the invitation to attend the 'dessert supper' in the Parochial Hall.
